Project Officer: Maria Bunn

The project aims to support  people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds with disability, people with an Acquired Brain Injury ( ABI) their families  and carers by assisting them and providing opportunities to :

  • Discuss issues that impact on their lives in a supported environment
  • Provide assistance to enable the project target group make informed decisions, service choices and self advocate where possible
  • Facilitate access to services that meet their individual needs
  • Increase social networks through participation in peer support groups and engagement in local community activities.


EDAC will facilitate a series of Self advocacy training workshops through the Perth Metro are between  April and May 2016.

EDAC has partnered with BIZLINK to pilot a program assisting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) clients with a disability from the Rockingham, Kwinana and Fremantle area. The pilot program will provide support and assistance to CaLD clients through individualised Job-matching and industry specific training and support.

Disability Support Organisation Capacity Building Project

EDAC is also working with Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) on a program to develop and /or Support Peer Support Groups to learn About the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
